Thanks to Fred for telling me about this site. I often think about the memories of good old Offutt AFB. Most of the memories were great. I have often wondered what happened to all the guys and hopefully I will be able to find out through this site. It was truely and honor being a member of the SAC Elite Guard. I still to this day utilize the training I received from the Guard. I have been a Deputy Sheriff since leaving the military. I have been a Homicide Detective for the last 7 1/2 years. I am so glad someone has taken the time to create this site. Contact me if you remember me so we can remember the good times. By the way does anyone know if Hall Jones is back in Louisiana??

I was at Offutt AFB in Feb 1959 as a high school senior taking tests for the Air Force Academy. I had one afternoon off and went over to the SAC HQ – at the visitors desk I asked the Elite Guard if I could get in on a tour of the underground command post. He checked with his CO who put me in a tour with a visiting congressman and even got to watch in the com center as they talked to one of the B-52s on airborne alert . Years later I was in regular short wave radio contact with the same HQ while I was flying B-52s on airborne alert. To this day I still remember the courtesy extended me by the SAC Elite Guards. Thanks guys

I did not write the previous comment. Although I do love dogs I never stated that I love security forces. This is obviously the work of one of my fellow flight members who does not deserve to work at the elite guard because they don’t have an elite sense of intelligence. Probably one of the people who continues to write childish things in the pass on books as well. This concludes my guardmount briefing. Are there any questions?

I was one of the last few fortunate airman to be recruited from the USAF Security Police Academy and be selected as a member of the distinguished 3906 Special Security Squadron, SAC Elite Guard, in 1991. My time with “The Guard” was one of the most memorable and exciting times in my life. I was so honored to be trained and mentored by some of the best cops in the USAF, and to have had the privilege and distinction of earning the right to wear “SAC Elite Guard blues” with them. I was there for the “changing of the guard” from SAC to USSTRATCOM in June 1992, and, although SAC is gone and the uniforms have changed, it feels good to know that the Elite Guard is still there and that the essence of the SAC Elite Guard still roams the corridors of BLDG 500. I left active duty in January 1995, but returned to the reserves as an IMA with the 55th SFS at OAFB, NE. I was activated on 01 Oct 01 as a result of 11 Sept 01, and just recently got demobilized as of 26 Jan 03, after 15 months. I have since separated from the reserves and I am now back at work as a United States Probation Officer for the United States District Court, District of Nebraska (Omaha). GODSPEED to all.

I just came to the elite guard in may 2002. It’s amazing how much things have changed and how strange it is to see all the posts before they put in all the extra security features, some that don’t exist anymore, and how much the uniforms have changed. This is a great site.

I served with the guard from 1966 to 1968. I have never been associated with a finer group. It was great seeing so many old friends and the underground again. Great site.

I submitted some old pictures to the site, under Dignitaries. Thanks Bill! I can’t remember though who is between me and AB Steve Sanders in the photo with Maj Sanchez and General LeMay inspecting us. Also, I can’t remember the two folks at the end of the red carpet in the Color Guard/General Loh picture. Me, Dixon, Huth and Wavelon Jackson were the color guard that day. Any help?

I see that quite a few of my fellow guardsmen have checked in. It’s great to see that we have a way to revisit what was the “best of times”. A big what’s up to Lawler, Frey, Woosley, Ramirez, Zhea, Lewis, Huth and anyone else that I may have had the honor of serving with that might see this greeting. Drop me line. Those definitely were the good ole days.

I proudly served on the hill from 1989 to 1994. To this day, I have never served with a more motivated and professional bunch of men and women. Scanning the guest book I see some familiar names and I’m pleased to see they are still in the military. Bin Laden and Sadaam doesn’t stand a chance. Great site! Let’s kick some @zz!!

I was assigned to SAC HQ in July of 1950! We were the first AP’s to pull full time duty at HQ, G.L. Simmons was our NCOIC, he lived in GEN Le May’s quarters on the top floor and was married to the Generals Secretary. This pre-dates your indication of the beginning of the 3902 Air Police Sqdn. assignment to AP duty at SAC Hq by many years. Want to know More???

My first assignment was with the 3902 SPS in 1963. I participated in many changing of the guard ceremonies, honors for dignitaries, and as the OIC on many of the trips taken by the drill team, including the two in 1967 you have pictures of on the site. Sgt Woolgar taught this green lieutenant many things about honor and leadership. It was a great honor to serve with the fine men of the Elite Guard. I have pictures and news articles that I’ll scan and send to you as soon as I find them. Good Job and thank you for setting up the site.

Worthy Blue Beret’s
I was stationed at Westover AFB, Mass with the 99 SPS which had a SAC Elite Guard unit. This unit was assigned to an under ground Command Post about five miles off base in the side of a mountain in Western Mass. Our job took on even more importance when former Pres. Nixon’s daughter went to Smith College near by. We were often visited by Secret Service which added to our fun.
As much as we were told not to talk about our work it was no surprise to see our site in full layout in the local Springfield, Mass Sunday paper. I guess we all have stories which “guard” love to tell.
I was only Elite Guard for six months when I returned to the main base for a PCS to RVN, but that’s another story.

Dad (Ret SMSgt Ed Keeney) has been harassing me to visit here for awhile now *lol* But I’m very glad I did, it was very cool seeing my dad in those pictures, even though I’ve seen them so often throughout my life =) But seeing him in that uniform brought back all kinds of memories of my growing up as a military “brat” (my father will agree to that term 100%!) I’ve added your site to Project Honor as well. Thank you for including that website on yours as well. I know this site has gotten dad so excited seeing old pictures and memories from his time in the service.

Hey it’s great to see a site about the elite guard. I was in the 3906 from 80-84. It would be good to hear from anyone from that time. The picture marked dare unknown with the guards passing the shield is from the late 70’s, some of the guy’s in it are familiar I’m trying to hit the way-back button on my memory to come up with the names.

Dear Comrades

Having fought in the past and as we move forward to fight the current War on Terror.

As you patrol those parts of the world that are dangerous. As you patrol those areas that are to cold, and to hot. As you eat from a small packet not enough of a meal, but just enough to keep you going. As you see the enemy and do what you must. As you climb, crawl, walk, swim and jump into places very few of us will ever know.

Know this, some of us have been there and we Honor each of you everyday by thinking of your courage and hardships. We know your names and will never forget your sacrifices.

I have lost track of virtually everyone I served with at Offutt but am hoping that through this site I can renew old acquaintances. Good job Bill.

I was stationed at SAC as an elite guardsman from 1987 to 1991. This site is great. A few of the old guys have been looking for a way to get the message out to everyone for pictures, and a possible reunion has been in talks for years. I am back at Offutt now with the NAOC but still have several ties to the guys that I works with. I will be passing this on to everyone that I can. Great job.
